Womens Cross Country Earns Academic Honor
September 16, 2009ANDERSON, S.C. -- For the second consecutive semester, the Anderson womens cross country team has been named the recipient of the Dr. Shirley Jacks Academic Excellence Award, which is presented to the team that possesses the highest grade point average for each semester. “I am extremely proud of the consistent academic success displayed by our women’s cross country team,” Anderson Athletics Director Nancy Simpson said. “They have certainly set a standard and are proof that academic and athletic success can both be achieved.” The award – a silver Trojan helmet – is given in honor of Dr. Jacks, a long time supporter of AU athletics.
