Men's Golf Team Finishes 17th At Old North State
September 18, 2002BADIN, N.C. -- The Anderson College men's golf team shot a 304 in the second round and finished in a three-way tie for 17th in the 24-team Johnny Palmer/Old North State Tournament at the par-72, 6,800-yard Old North State Club Wednesday. The Trojans finished with a 36-hole total of 614 to tie Longwood and North Carolina at Pembroke for 17th place. USC Aiken shot a final round of 277 for a total to 556 to beat Barton by nine shots and host Pfeiffer by 12 shots. Kyle Owings led AC in the second round with a 2-over 73. Owings finished his second round with two kick-in birdies. Owings shot 148 for the tournament to lead the Trojans AC's other second-round scores and 36-hole totals were: Jon Hines (79-153), Brad Eskierka (77-156), Denton Moore (75-157), and Jon Ferguson (84-166).
