School Records fall at Eye Opener
March 2, 2010SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The Anderson track and field teams took full advantage of their first opportunity to get outside by setting new school records at the Savannah State Eye Opener held this past weekend at held at T. A. Wright Stadium. The two squads combined to set three new school records en route to claiming six first-place finishes in addition to claiming another 12 top-10 finishes at their first outdoor meet of the 2010 season. Whitney Bishoff set a new school record as the Winder, Ga., native took the top spot in the 1500m with a time of 4:52.30, while freshman Krishaun Hall posted a pair of fourth-place finishes, first in the 100m (13.00) and the 200m dash (26.83), respectively. Fellow freshman ReJeania Evans notched a 10th-place finish in the 100m dash, crossing the line with a time of 13.74. Freshman Isabel Berry finished sixth with a time of 2:39.49 in the 800m run, while junior Katelyn Rodgers posted a school-record17.61 time in the 100m hurdles, then teamed with sophomore Lauren Sloan as the duo finished 1-2 in the javelin throw, with Rodgers (860) just behind Sloans distance of 862. Rodgers also collected a first-place finish in the high jump (52) and 10th in the long jump with a distance of 157. Sloan garnered second in the shot put with 395 and fifth in the discus throw at 1079. The mens side saw senior Alex Jordan post a school-record time of 1:59.33 in the 800m run, while freshman

Zach Hart finished first in the pole vault with 136. Freshman
Will Byars earned first in the shot put (439), second in the discus throw (1155) and fourth in the javelin throw (143), with junior Derricke Black collecting a sixth-place finish in the shot put (344) and sixth with a distance of 805 in the javelin.
