Volleyball Camps and Training Sessions Set
March 15, 2012ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University head volleyball coach Craig Mosqueda has announce the dates for 2012 AU volleyball camps - with an option for the spring and three dates for summer camps.
The summer training program includes seven weeks of volleyball training, twice a week for two hours.
“The cost of this program is a great discount compared to similar programs,” said Mosqueda. “Most programs run $250-$285 but our cost is just $165.00. This year’s program is only offered to grades 8-12, but we will offer a second session if we receive enough requests for the lower grades. Most of the sessions will be in the Abney Athletic Center.”
The “Kid Camp” runs July 9-10 from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and the cost is $75 for grades 7 and under.
The overnight camp for grades 8-12 will be July 12-14, with a cost of $190 for commuters and $235 for overnight campers.
“Similar NCAA Division I programs cost campers $300 and above,” added Mosqueda. “We offer a minimum of two coaches per court, more court time, more instruction time and more personal attention. Most sessions will be in Abney Gym or at the Anderson Recreation Center.”
The Spring Elementary League begins with a clinic on April 21 and will train every Tuesday and Thursday for the following five weeks. The cost is only $50 per player and players are asked sign up in teams of 5-6 with a parent-coach.
“We will train both the players and parent coaches on April 21 and April 24 before competition begins. The goal is to get younger children playing at an earlier age so that eventually there are multiple 12 and 13 year old teams competing for Vision Volleyball."
