Men's Soccer Hosts Meet the Team Dinner
August 24, 2012ANDERSON, S.C. – In a successful kickoff to an annual event, the Anderson men’s soccer team hosted its’ first-ever “Meet the Team” dinner Friday night at AU’s Food for Thought.
More than 150 players and fans gathered on the lower level of the Thrift Library to meet the team and listen to first-year head coach John Murphy’s preview of the upcoming season.
In addition, coach Murphy will host a “Positive Coaching” youth coach’s clinic Saturday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the AU Athletic Campus. The clinic is $25 or free to anyone who bought a ticket to the “Meet the Team” dinner.
Anderson will host Limestone in a preseason scrimmage following the clinic and the Trojans open the regular season on the road at UNC Pembroke in the Braves’ home opener on Saturday, Sept. 1.
