ERSKINE RALLIES TO BEAT ANDERSON

DUE WEST, S.C. -- Keith Hill scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of ninth to give Erskine a 7-6 victory over Anderson University in a non-conference game Thursday afternoon. Anderson, 19-22 overall, led 5-2 through 6 1/2 innings, but Erskine scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 5. Anderson took a 5-2 lead in the seventh on RBI singles by Kyle Lewis and John Mac White, and a sacrifice fly by Jessie Whiteside. Erskine tied the game in the home half of the seventh on a two-out, two-run single by Keith Hill and an RBI double by Shelton Cisson. An error, a single by B.J. Smith, and back-to-back walks gave Anderson a 6-5 lead in the eighth. The Fleet tied the game in the bottom of the eighth on a run-scoring double by Chas Anthony. In the bottom of the ninth, Hill singled, moved to second on a sacrifice, moved to third on an error, and scored the winning run when Matt Schneider hit a ground ball to second base. Smith, Lewis, White, and Don Ballard had two hits apiece for Anderson. Anderson plays host to Mount Olive for a three-game CVAC series this weekend. Anderson University Baseball Season Statistics
