The Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams claimed seven top-10 finishes at the two-day Weems Baskin Invitational, which was hosted by South Carolina, Friday and Saturday at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Track.
Olivia Evans finished fourth in the women's 5,000 meter run in a time of 18:25.08, with Abigail Bozarth claiming eighth in a time of 18:35.03. Olivia Rish was 16th after crossing the finish line in a time of 19:24.46. Hannah Sanford finished 18th in a time of 19:44.61. Lydia Gambrell (19:49.96) and Emily Olson (22:11.71) finished 21st and 24th, respectively.
Jasmine Barmore finished 64th in the women's 400 meter dash in a time of 1:00.47, while Emilee Edwards Anderson crossed the finish line in 95th place in a time of 1:05.94. Barmore also finished 120th in the women's 200 meter dash in a time of 26.91.
Morgan Bridges claimed 15th in the 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:56.78 and 22nd in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:22.31. Martha Coleman finished 43rd in the 1,500 meter run after crossing the finish line in a time of 5:29.06. Breck Jones claimed 46th in the 1,500 meter run in a time of 5:35.72, with Natalie Ardis finishing 51st in a time of 6:43.41.
Maddie Buddenberg finished sixth in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 13:04.01, with Madison Seay finishing 30th in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:06.49 and 63rd in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 20.05. JoLyn Copeland finished 25th in the discus throw with a distance of 31.90 meters
On the men's side, Christopher Burton finished in a tie for 35th in the 100 meter dash in a time of 10.78, while Austin Elgin was 96th in a time of 11.39. Burton finished 36th in the 200 meter dash in a time of 21.85, with Jordan Anderson sharing 67th place in a time of 22.46 and Elgin (22.93) was 109th. Rashod Monts was 138th in a time of 23.69. Caleb Stephenson Anderson (24.07) finished in 144th place.
Monts also claimed 88th place in the men's 400 meter dash in a time of 51.81, with Anderson finishing 95th in a time of 52.16. Cameron Owens-Hunter claimed 21st place in the 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:11.28. Riley Dixon was 33rd in a time of 4:22.04. Matthew Burgess finished 38th in a time of 4:32.30 and David Rolon (4:56.13) finished 47th.
Ben Clark paced the Trojan men in the 5,000 meter run by finishing fifth in a time of 15:08.06, while Philip Quillen (15:34.04) and Weston Hutto (15:51.22) claimed 11th place and 15th place, respectively. Joey Teachout claimed 19th place in a time of 15:55.98, with Robert Jones taking 48th place in the men's 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:00.31.
John Drummond (10:21.91) and Riley Dixon (10:31.02) were sixth and seventh, respectively in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Elgin, Anderson, Stephenson and Burton finished 18th in a time of 43.54. Connor Wheatley finished 10th in the javelin throw with a distance of 37.50 meters.
The Trojans will get back in action with some of the team at the Raleigh Relays on Friday and Saturday, while others will compete at Wofford's Terrier Relays on Saturday.
