ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's basketball team clinched the regular season SAC Title with huge win over Coker, 93-48, on Saturday afternoon at the Abney Athletic Center.
With the victory, the Trojans move to 23-2 overall and 17-0 in SAC play while the Cobras fall to 5-20 overall and 4-13 in conference action.
- The Trojans shot over 50% from the floor and behind the three-point line.
- Anderson outrebounded the Cobras 45-37.
- The Cobras shot just 14.3% behind the arc on 2-of-14 shooting.
- The Black and Gold recorded 21 assists on the afternoon.
-Junior Alexy Mollenhauer led all scorers with a game-high 27 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Mollenhauer shot 5-of-8 from the arc and was credited with five assists. The junior forward has totaled 17 double-doubles on the season.
-Senior Ace Easter netted 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting while draining four three-point baskets.
-Freshman Valencia Carroll came off the bench to hit 4-of-4 three-point baskets and 1-of-1 from the floor to score a career-high 14 points
-The Trojans did not allow any Cobra player to score in double-digits.
-Anderson's last SAC Title was the 2015-16 season with this season's title being the first under head coach Jonathon Barbaree.
-The Black and Gold have won 21 straight games.
Anderson remains home to finish up its regular season home slate when it welcomes SAC opponent Newberry on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 5 pm.
